Pilkington has exhibited for the first time at the North East Asia Investment and Trade Expo, held this year in Changchun. The six-day trade fair attracted nearly 600 exhibitors and 500,000 visitors from more than 80 countries.

Pilkington had been invited to attend by the Chngchun local government.

The Pilkington stand introduced the company as part of the NSG Group, described its operations worldwide and in China, and showcased its products. Eight samples of automotive glass were on show, most of them with attachments.

The stand team also distributed 1,000 copies of This is Pilkington, in both Chinese and English language versions, and 400 copies of the Automotive Global News in Chinese.

China country manager and Automotive general manager Eddie Chai was invited to join the official party on the platform for the opening ceremony and was interviewed in the local press afterwards.

"Our presence at the Expo has been invaluable in enhancing our reputation within China and throughout Asia as a whole," said Eddie.

"It was not the kind of event which we would expect to result in OE orders, although we did get a number of enquiries from the local AGR market."
