The 1-Clic Packaging System from Owens-Illinois features an easy-open reversible closure that provides a single audible "click" to indicate the closure has been secured correctly - a feature that encourages consistent and proper use. The closure can be used in a child-resistant or non-child-
resistant position, a feature seniors value.
The Arthritis Foundation encourages development of products and packaging that are easy to use by all Americans, but especially those with arthritis who may have pain and limited movement. An independent review panel of design experts, people with arthritis and health professionals evaluate products for
recognition.
"Ease of use is an essential characteristic of our packaging systems, and we are proud that the Arthritis Foundation has recognized the benefits of the 1-Clic Packaging System," said Patrick O'Connell, VP, Sales & Marketing, Owens-Illinois. "Innovation is the driving force behind every container and closure we design."
"We are pleased that companies like Owens-Illinois are developing products that consider the needs of people coping with limited movement and the pain of arthritis," said John H. Klippel, MD, CEO of the Arthritis Foundation.
With the Ease-of-Use program, the Arthritis Foundation seeks to increase consumer awareness of products that make life easier for people with activity limitations and to recognize those companies with arthritis-friendly products. The program honors products favorably reviewed by the Arthritis Foundation and that carry the Foundation's Ease-of-Use Commendation logo.
