Onyx Solar’s photovoltaic glass has been decisive for securing the award. It enables the stadium to generate nearly 34,500 kWh, allowing it to become the first LEED Gold certified sports center in the United States.
The amorphous silicon photovoltaic glass employed was tailor-made, and set on 14 circular skylights situated at the entrance of the building. The design allows the Miami Heat to use light effects in order to generate a spectacular atmosphere in which to indulge in events and victories.
