AluK’s Managing Director, Russell Yates has just been confirmed as one of the panellists for the upcoming Glazing Summit, taking place near Birmingham on 22 May.

Russell will be speaking in the Materials Debate, putting the case for aluminium alongside PVC-U and timber, in front of an audience of business owners and directors from across the industry.

The debate will cover the retail and commercial sectors, asking what customers will be buying and what architects will be specifying; and Russell will be no doubt have lots of useful analysis on the key trends to come in aluminium.

The Materials Debate will feature in the morning session, while in the afternoon a second debate will tackle the threats and opportunities facing the industry. With no FIT Show happening this year, the Glazing Summit looks like a great new initiative.

It has lots of the elements which made the earlier Glasstalk events organised by the team behind the FIT Show such a success way back in 2012, including networking slots and presentations from expert speakers on everything from acquisitions to tax.

The full agenda has just been published and some of the highlights are an analysis of the impact that innovative new technology such as the IoT (Internet of Things) is likely to have on the industry, and a special slot for installers looking, amongst other things, at how they can respond to the continuing pressure on margins.

It’s easy to convince yourself that you can’t spare a day out of the office to attend an event or an exhibition, but the Glazing Summit looks like it could be an unmissable event in this year’s industry calendar. It’s being organised by Purplex Marketing and Insight Data and you can reserve a place now via the dedicated website or click the link below.
