Industrial Standards Formulation Kickoff Conference for Glass Machinery and Equipment Was Held in Guangdong

During the “12th Five-Year Plan” period, the glass machinery manufacturing industry optimized the industrial structure and improved innovation capability by moving the industry in the direction to become more integrated, specialized, and intelligent with more comprehensive product categories in order to shape up a solid and independent industry system.

However, as the national overall economic situation in 2014 declined, the recession in real estate market led to severe overcapacity of glass making industry, resulting in slowing down of growth in glass machinery and equipment manufacturing.

In this context, to comply with the requirement of “speeding up the globalization process in industrial standards of machinery and equipment manufacturing, accelerating the R&D and updates of key technology standards, and promoting the go global strategy for China made equipment, technologies, products, and services” set forth in the “Strategic Plan for the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing Industries Standardization and Overall Products' Quality Upgrading” recently released by the State Department, based on the actual situation in the industry, the Machinery and Equipment Professional Committee of China’s Architectural and Industrial Glass Association held the Fifth Standing Committee Session of the Third Machinery and Equipment Professional Committee in late June at Lunjiao, Guangdong. 

Held also were the industrial standards formation kickoff conference for “Glass Straight Line Edging Machines” and “Glass Straight Line Beveling Machines” as well as workshops for standardization.  

The director and deputy director of the Third Machinery and Equipment Professional Committee, members of the Standing Committee, members of the Expert Team, representatives and invited guests from related enterprises, Mr. Baiheng Zhang, Executive Vice President and Secretary General, and Mr. Zhanshu Zhao, Director of the Secretariat of China’s Architectural and Industrial Glass Association attended the conference. 

The conference was hosted by Mr. Xiangguo Hao, Director of the Secretariat of Machinery and Equipment Professional Committee.
