Every year the event is becoming more and more popular among both exhibitors and visitors. This trend is not surprising because the GLASS trade show is the only such business-facing event in Poland dedicated to glass. This year it will take place 20-23 November, traditionally in Poznań.
The reason for the dynamic growth in the use of glass is the proportionally rapid growth of demand on the domestic market, mainly from the construction sector. Unfortunately, there is still too little glass in Poland, hence a lot of the raw material is imported. In Europe, construction companies and investors are paying more and more attention to safety in buildings, environmental protection and insulation, which is required in both residential and commercial construction. These are the factors will drive the development of the glass industry in the coming years, the trend that is reflected in the growing importance of the GLASS trade fair.
“I see great potential in Glass, which is why this project is a big challenge for me. Of course, the trade fair will continue to be a place to showcase machinery, equipment and accessories for the processing of flat glass. Automation in this sector is particularly noticeable and leading companies have already booked a place with us. My intention, however, is to pay particular attention to the potential of glass in construction, architecture and design. We have been observing these trends on global markets for a long time. I hope that having Glass together with Stone will be an opportunity to showcase the inspiring possibilities of glass and stone in this sector. We are actively working on the agenda of the trade fair. The team has a lot of work ahead of them, but I am optimistic that the upcoming edition will be even more interesting than the previous one,” says Marta Szydłowska, the director of Glass trade fair.
The event is gaining more and more trust among both visitors and exhibitors. The exhibition area of the last year's edition was over 20% larger than the previous one. Among the exhibitors were representatives of a dozen or so countries from such countries as South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, Israel, Spain, Finland.
The GLASS trade show is a place where automation of all processes in the glass industry is particularly visible. Such modern solutions are offered by the trade show exhibitors and it is here that you can touch, see and evaluate the functionality of the devices.
“The workforce is becoming more and more expensive, hence the need to improve the processes of glass processing to minimize operator errors and their impact on all processes in the company. The key is to produce machines that will be not only functional, but also easy to use. This is our third time at GLASS,” said Bogusław Pawlikiewicz, the owner of Expoglass, a manufacturer of machines for cutting, drilling and storing glass, during GLASS 2018.
The exhibitors do not only showcase their products, but their mission is also to educate and spread knowledge about modern solutions in the glass industry.
“Even people from the industry do not know that they can successfully use such innovative machines in their companies. This is what we show here, we inspire change. We try to encourage automation of processes not only in production, but also in construction,” said Przemysław Ciechanowski, the owner of Glasslift.
Customers are more frequently looking for solutions that engage people less. Some of the machines presented at the fair can successfully replace up to 3-4 people. As the exhibitors of last year's edition of GLASS tried to prove, most of such investments pay for themselves very quickly. Moreover, GLASS also features an artistic aspect. In a specially designated area you will be able to admire professionals presenting various techniques of glass decoration, such as fusing, sandblasting or spray painting. In addition, demonstrations of making stained glass will be another real treat at the event.
The abundant exhibition will be of particular interest to manufacturers of glass products, glass-making plants, glassworks, flat glass manufacturing plants, packaging manufacturers, facility managers and administrators, as well as plants related to recycling and processing of broken glass. The range of products offered at GLASS is also very attractive for designers and architects. Glass is more and more often used in construction, which is best observed in the designs of new offices, shopping centres and residential buildings, and a lot of investment is in spatial solutions with the use of glass facades and structures.
The GLASS trade show is held at the same time as the STONE trade show dedicated to the stone industry.
