China Glass, a premier international event for the glass industry, opens at a particularly delicate time for the Chinese economy which is growing more slowly than the previous decade and is at grips with major socio-economic changes overall. In Shanghai, on 14-17 April, more than 80,000 sq.m. of the entire exhibition space will host the world’s leading producers and trade people: noteworthy are the Italian companies accompanied by Gimav as always, occupying a large area of about 1,300 net sq.m.A total of 25 exhibitors, slightly down from last year: but for purely commercial reasons only because some have decided to be represented by local agents. Italian attendance is very significant therefore and showcases the finest Made in Italy technology (a list of the companies and their stand is provided below), which leading glass producers and transformers in China are now reliant on more than ever before. With quality becoming a must-have for the Chinese market too, here Italian companies have better chances of successfully showcasing their technologies. Even in the face of competition from local producers which is considerably stiffer than in recent years, but still a long cry from the levels of Italian excellence.
