FOR.EL. S.p.A. turned up at the Vitrum 2005 fair scene in a lofty and distinguishing style, as is her habit. In an exhibition area of 1200 square metres inside pavilion 14, FOR.

EL. S.p.A. put a wide range of glass working machinery for flat glass and double glazing on display. Many of them showed for the first time to the market and they represent the company’s constant effort towards its customers requests and towards the market needs.

Its creations have high technological and applicative contents that accurately reflect FOR.EL.’s will and determination to grow structure-wise and to become more refined outwards without failing to keep to its basic ideals of quality, tenacity and ties to the Italian culture. Unmistakable proof of this is the recent inauguration of its new headquarters and the continuation of the extension and expansion of the production area, as well as renovation of the logo and reference to the opera of the master glassworkers of Murano “The Wings of Venice”, which the visitors of the stand were able to discover and appreciate. Tribute is given to the outstanding throng of visitors: this year’s Vitrum was certainly a positive event for FOR.EL. The demonstrations that were planned concerning operations of FOR.EL. machines showed once again to be a winning strategy, especially when innovations are the topic.

FOR.EL. never falls short in regards to proposing new machinery. The new products are interesting, innovative and high-tech: they are presented on these occasions to the visitors as new alternatives that inspire new prospects of interest. First of all the new version of the automatic arrissing machine can be broached. It does not replace the old machine – it completes it. In particular, this machine allows operations on shaped glass, both straight and non rectilinear, and glass of small measurements (320 mm x 180 mm).
Respecting the working principals of the former version, FOR.EL. S.p.A. once again launches the use of the “feeler” situated on the operating head which, preceding the diamond wheel, runs along the glass edges supplying correct data of their shape. Two sensors record in real time these characteristics and their feedback carries out the correct positioning of the diamond wheel.

Above all productivity is considerably increased in this version. As a matter of fact, the use of two operating units, installed in a cascade connection, consents arrissing on two glass panes at the same time. While the first unit works on the first vertical and on the upper horizontal side of the glass pane, the second, in relation to the length of the glass pane, works on the lower horizontal and then on the second vertical side. During this latter phase a second glass pane can already start operations at the first operating head. A reduction in work time and great flexibility are accordingly realized. And more over: the combination of the two different types of arrissing machine, combined with the multi-arrissing tool configuration, can carry out the flat/raw/polished edge in vertical position.

Flexibility is also a peculiar characteristic of the automatic line for FOR.EL. Super Spacer®. Double glazing of different shapes can be realized with this line thanks to the use of the automatic FOR.EL. Super Spacer® applicator and to the FOR.EL. hot-melt automatic sealing machine. The Super Spacer® applicator, presented last year at the Glasstec in Duesseldorf, has been significantly refined in its performance. A continuous strip of spacer profile is wound around a bobbin and directly applied on one of the two glass panes in order to form a closed frame; this is all carried out in the same production line of the double glazing. The FOR.EL. Super Spacer® applicator introduces some essential and innovative mechanisms that allow placing the spacer frame on the glass pane in a cheaper, more functional and more reliable way. At the same time a more exemplary job is attained, especially on the corners.

Other “made in FOR.EL” fundamental machines that the VITRUM visitors were able to see in operation at the FOR.EL. stand cannot be disregarded. The vertical cutting line for small, medium and large panes combined with the automatic stock selector and with the automatic loader, completed by the semi-automatic edge breaking machine; the automatic profile bender; the automatic desiccant loader; the butyl rubber extrusion plant in combination with the loading/unloading system of the spacer frames; lastly, the automatic coating remover for low-E glass and the automatic structural sealing machine. The corner dedicated to FOR.EL. SERVICE could not fail to exist, a FOR.EL. S.p.A. division reserved to customer care before and after sales. High quality, a wide range of products and new products and an award-winning level of service have been furthermore confirmed at this edition of VITRUM 2005.
