Dortech utilised Senior Architectural Systems, high performance PURe window and door glazing systems for this process.
“We are very proud of the quality of work that this company produces and particularly our attention to detail and process refinement. This focus runs right through the company, from the initial receipt of an enquiry, to production, to installation of our products on site and in my opinion sets us apart from our competitors”, Dortech’s Divisional Managing Director, Paul Trueman.
In cases where Secure by Design (SBD) accreditation is a clearly specified requirement on a project, it is no longer acceptable for fabricators to manufacture and install glazing projects on the back of testing that their respective window systems supplier may have done.
In order for a project to reach the Secure by Design standard, all parties (Systems Company and glazing fabricator/installer) must have a recognised Secure by Design accreditation, such as Q-Mark. This can be attained through controlled testing of window and door systems, in addition to assessments of a company’s quality control and production processes.
Secured by Design has been developed by the Association of Chief Police Officers Crime Prevention Initiatives (ACPO CPI Ltd) and is the group name for a number of national Police projects focused on the design and security for new and refurbished homes, commercial premises and car parks, as well as the acknowledgement of quality security products and crime prevention projects. The principles of the scheme have been proven to reduce the risk of crime and the fear of crime.
