Date: 29 January 2016
The conference “Function Meets Glass” on 19 and 20 September 2016 will look at how such products are made at the highest level of quality, under short cycles and with maximum output. Whether it’s in façades, windows, vehicles, TVs, touch displays or OLEDs, functional glazing can now be found in nearly all spheres of life. The future belongs to glass, because the options for application are almost endless.
The new conference “Function Meets Glass” will be held during glasstec 2016, on 19 and 20 September. It will highlight the requirements on the product and what special processes are possible with machinery and equipment used in the production and processing of functional glass. There will be high-calibre presentations by representatives of science and industry who will provide information about state-of-the-art technologies and products and who will invite their audiences to engage in an international dialogue.
On the first day of the conference the programme will focus on machinery and equipment for the processing and finishing of functional glass. Day two will be all about products, the market and applications. The latest products and future visions will be presented from a wide range of applications, and there will be discussions of the special requirements on the production and processing of thin glass.
The conference “Function Meets Glass” will be held as part of glasstec and in cooperation with the VDMA Glass Technology Forum, the Photovoltaic Equipment Workgroup and the East Bavarian Institute of Technology Transfer (OTTI).
glasstec 2016 is a must for professionals in mechanical engineering, industry, architecture, the trade sector and solar power. Its wide-ranging additional programme includes special shows and conferences, providing added value for all visitors. The main highlight of the trade fair will be the special show “glass technology live”. As before, it will be organized by Prof. Stefan Behling, a Senior Executive Partner at Fosters & Partners and his team from IBK 2 (Institute of Construction Design) at the University of Stuttgart.
The show will feature spectacular exhibits, innovative products and pioneering solutions. This time the focus will be above all on free-form, ultra-thin and solid glass as well as on glass used for information purposes. Again, participation in any of the trade-fair symposia will be free for visitors.
Other special thematic areas will be the Crafts Centre with Craft LIVE, providing opportunities for a hands-on experience, the Glass and Façade Competence Centre as well as the Glass Art exhibition.
glasstec 2016 will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 20 to 23 September 2016. Information about the trade fair is available at the following web address: www.glasstec-online.com
