American PPG Industries to Help Build Glass Plant in St.-Petersburg

Baltic Glass Company, the subsidiary of Russian Soda Company from St.-Petersburg and American PPG Industries, Inc. agreed on concerted efforts in the implementation of the sheet glass project in St.-Petersburg.

The joint project concerns the construction of a plant in St.-Petersburg with two production lines of the capacity of 600 tons per day each. The plant will make sheet architectural and car glass. The construction will be performed by Henry F. Teichmann, Inc. The St.-Petersburg glass plant will use the OxyFuel technology (oxygen gas fuel) developed by PPG.
