There’s no doubt the market for aluminium windows and doors has boomed in recent years thanks to the growing popularity of bi-folds and increasing consumer demand for windows with modern aesthetics and light-loving slim sightlines. What’s more, according to figures released by Palmer Market Research earlier this year, this growth is set to continue and reach a 17-year high by 2020.
Answering the Alu upsurge
To support fabricators and installers as they shift their production and portfolio to meet this growing aluminium trend, Window Ware has embarked on a plan to expand its aluminium product offering, as well as strengthen its sales team with additional specialist knowledge and expertise.
“This is a key strategic move for us,” commented Window Ware’s MD, Sam Nuckey. “As the market grows and fabricators diversify into aluminium alongside their uPVC production, our product- and service offering MUST reflect the evolving needs of our customers. At the same time, it’s crucial that any new team members, not only bring the right expertise and product knowledge to the table, but also share our values and passion for service excellence."
Our aluminium growth plans are well underway. Earlier this year, we introduced a new slim back set version of Yale’s popular Lockmaster multi-point door lock which is designed to work specifically with Smarts, Exlabesa and AluK profiles.
Team this with Yale’s platinum 3* Euro profile cylinder and stainless-steel door handle to create a super-secure bi-fold locking system. We’ll be launching several new aluminium products later this month, including Caldwell folding openers(for which we’re now the new official UK distributors) and Duco made-to-measure louvre vents by RW Simon. That’s just the start!
As we focus our attention on the aluminium market, we’ll be looking at bringing more products to the mix to enhance our current range of locks, handles, hinges, and airflow solutions like RW Simon’s TTF Slimline through-frame vent, which are all specifically designed for aluminium bi-folds and casements to meet our customers emerging hardware requirements.
With our aluminium product range taking shape nicely, the next step was to find the right person to help steer our expansion effort and provide superior support to aluminium fabricators, brands and systems houses.
Cue the latest addition to the Window Ware team, Richard Fraser, who has just joined us as our newest Business Development Manager. Richard will be calling upon over 30 years’ industry experience and know-how to provide UK customers in the aluminium fabrication sector with the very best advice and proven hardware solutions.
Commercial Director, Richard Bryant is enthusiastic about any opportunity to strengthening partnerships and build Window Ware’s knowledgebase. “This is an exciting time for us! Not only do we get to work more closely with the skilled teams at Caldwell Hardware UK and RW Simon while we roll out these brilliant new products, but with Richard’s arrival, we’re also able to absorb fresh expertise and knowhow for the benefit of our customers. I know Richard will make a brilliant addition to the Window Ware crew.”
Recruited and reassured
Richard told us, “This new role marks the start of the next exciting chapter in my career. Window Ware has a fantastic product range and I’m definitely looking forward to joining their team. When I told people where I’d be working, I got some really positive feedback about my new employers. They have the reputation of being a great company to deal with and that’s reassuring to know when you’re about to join their ranks! Their excellent standing as a leading hardware provider should make my job a little easier too – when you’re trying to win new business and grow your network, half the battle is about building trust. It sounds like Window Ware has already done a great job of gaining the confidence of professionals across the UK door and window industry!”
