"Based on customer feedback and usage patterns, we strived to make the new site much more visual and easier to navigate," says Christine Shaffer, marketing manger at Viracon. "We’ve also added new tools that make it easier for customers to find and store ideas and information for their projects."
A new My Viracon feature allows customers to log on and create folders to store product information for particular projects. Customers may contact their Viracon representative to establish a username and password, and then create multiple folders to store information by project. In the coming months, Viracon will be continually expanding My Viracon features to include new tools and capabilities.
Also new is an enhanced means of searching for performance data. With the large number of coating, substrate and glass configuration options available, the company has more than 4,000 lines of performance data on the website. A new search tool allows visitors to begin with a broad search, such as "insulating glass," and then quickly narrow the search based on desired coatings, performance values or enhanced features.
In addition, the company’s GoogleMaps feature has also been expanded. The unique mapping feature allows visitors to search for projects by geographic location. A Google map not only shows where each project is located, but also includes Viracon product information along with project facts and a photo, when available. Job seekers will also find an expanded Viracon career section, which features a link on the homepage.
"We’re excited for people to visit the new site and explore the new tools, and we encourage people to check back for even more new features in the coming months," says Shaffer.
