The certificate is presented annually to firms that have demonstrated their commitment to the highest ethical standards in the conduct of business. This is the second consecutive year Viracon has received the honor.
Viracon was one of eight subcontracting firms and the only glass fabricator to earn the award this year. Elaine Erickson, contract review supervisor at Viracon, spearheaded the company’s participation in the program.
"Since its inception in 1966, ASA has made clear that ethical and equitable business practices are among its most dearly held values," said 2009-10 ASA president Darlene East, of Holes Incorporated. “These eight firms exemplify the highest ethical standards in our industry.”
To be considered for the certificate, applicants responded to questions concerning their corporate ethics policies and procedures, construction practices and general business practices. They also demonstrated the implementation of such policies by submitting letters of recommendation from a customer, a competitor and a supplier.
The ASA Excellence in Ethics Certificates were presented during ASA’s Annual Meeting earlier this month in San Diego.
