Date: 25 May 2012

Architects and designers who specify glass for interior applications will find inspiration, innovation and performance in the products on display at Guardian Industries Booth (1943) at the AIA National Convention and Design Exposition, May 17-19 in Washington, D.

C.Guardian brings Guardian InGlass, its advanced interior glass portfolio, together with its Guardian SunGuard advanced architectural glass, in a visually striking display that demonstrates all the possibilities of glass.Guardian InGlass gives designers and architects the opportunity to experience and interact with a variety of glass colors, textures and performance attributes all in one place.Interior designers and architects can specify interior glass products that can increase comfort, improve safety, conserve energy, reduce maintenance, resist wear as well as make an aesthetic statement. InGlass provides the platform to allow designers to incorporate glass in almost any environment in any interior application, including walls and partitions, showers and countertops, elevators and escalators and more.

AIA Booth 1943 will be awash with colors and textures as Guardian presents:

Guardian DiamondGuard for strength and resiliency. This high-endurance glass is infused with the strength of carbon to give improved resistance to scratches and everyday wear and tear.

Guardian Berman Glass editions for artisanship and texture. Inspired from the kiln-cast line of Joel Berman Glass Studios, Berman Glass editions delivers a custom glass appearance to interior designers, products and glass systems manufacturers. It also provides glass shops with a quick ship / “ready to wear” program.

Guardian InGlass DecoCristal for color and customization through printing. Painting one side of the glass produces a brightly opaque, aesthetically stunning glass available in many colors, illustrated by a variety of tables on view in Booth 1943.

Guardian will also walk visitors through GuardianInGlass.com, its industry-leading website. Intuitively organized, visually pleasing and highly interactive, GuardianInGlass.com makes it easy to browse application ideas, evaluate options, select products, consult experts and purchase glass that takes projects to the next level. It also connects designers with fabricators, glaziers and others to assist them to make their design concepts a reality

Guardian listened to designers who said dealing with glass is a difficult process. The company produced a seamless system to help architects, designers and builders better understand glass. Highly interactive, the site makes it easy to browse application ideas, evaluate options, select products, consult experts, and purchase glass that takes projects to the next level. It also connects designers with fabricators, glaziers and others to assist them to make their design concepts a reality.

“We created GuardianInGlass.com for architects and designers to unlock the potential of glass through access to knowledge, products and services that will help bring their creative projects to life.” said Diane Turnwall, market segment director of Interiors for Guardian. “The timing couldn’t be better. Designers are turning on to glass as a way to pull natural light through their interior layouts. In addition to its proven ability to increase productivity and satisfaction among building occupants, interior glass helps architects create more energy efficient buildings.”

A new feature on the website is the Guardian InGlass Visualizer, which helps visitors see their projects come to life by marrying products with applications to show how integrating different types of glass can transform the visual impact of the space.

Guardian will also demonstrate its innovation in new product design through its Guardian SunGuard advanced glazings products (see separate release). Samples and demonstrations of the newest commercial products, Guardian SunGuard PVGU and Soladigm Dynamic Glass, will be available, in addition to the entire advanced architectural glass products group. Guardian will also offer attendees an even deeper dive into understanding and selecting glass through its continuing education session, “The Evolution of Glass and High-Performance Coatings,” May 18, 12:30 p.m. at Booth 4436 in the AIA CES Theater.
