Success at Glasstec

Date: 27 October 2014

A contingent from British Glass, GTS and The Glass Academy have been in Dusseldorf in Germany this week for the biennial Glasstec exhibition, the world’s largest trade fair for the glass industry.

The stand in Hall 11, B17, has received a lot of traffic over the last few days and they’ve been moving forward with heads of agreement for the new British Glass building, for which it was announced a few months ago that we will receive £5m of funding for from the Sheffield Region Local Enterprise Partnership. We also had many membership enquiries, consultancy opportunities worldwide, enquiries into using GTS testing and analysis and through new and existing contacts, potential collaboration projects with key suppliers. And it’s not been all Bratwurst and German beer – the team have also been honing their IKEA building skills. To see their hard work in action, view the time-lapse video below of the stand being set up

With two more days of the trade fair left, we hope to capitalise on further opportunities before the team have a job packing the stand back down to make the journey home!
