The 2017 Health Ruby, Safety Diamond, and Environmental Emerald Awards is the most prestigious opportunity to showcase your EHS achievements across the Saint-Gobain global network.

This year there were 15 awards: 5 Health Rubies, 5 Safety Performance Diamonds and 5 Environmental Emeralds, available to all Saint-Gobain businesses globally. The Health Ruby is a new addition to the awards and offers an ideal opportunity to display the health activities demonstrated by your brand.

The Diamond Awards were judged by the Group jury including Compagnie de Saint-Gobain Chairman and CEO, Pierre-André de Chalendar, and the Group General Management team.

British Gypsum, Fauld Mine, have been awarded a Ruby for their efforts in improving colleague health and wellbeing. The majority of the Fauld site is based underground in the mine, meaning the quality of the working environment is key to a colleague’s health and wellbeing. The team at Fauld have undertaken several projects to reduce respirable dust levels, noise and diesel emissions.

Fauld drill operators are now placed within an enclosed cabin, limiting their exposure to noise and dust. One of the site’s scoop trucks has also been fitted with a new engine, reducing the amount of diesel particulates within the mine by 50%.
