KAT has seen an increase in sales of its Georgian style vertical sliding sash windows, with a continued rise in
popularity forecast for 2017. Sales of Mayfair contributed to an overall business growth of just over 20% in 2016 year to date.
Hand-crafted at its Macclesfield premises using techniques and skills similar to those employed in joinery workshops, KAT’s Mayfair range offers the authentic look of traditional timber Georgian windows, whilst combining the benefits of uPVC materials and modern engineering. Chris Powell, commercial director, commented: “The Mayfair sash window is our premium style on offer, and has proven a leading product for KAT
and our design partners, because it ticks every aesthetic and functional box. “
“The sash window market looks set to grow further and we’re delighted to be in a leading position with top products to offer our partners.”
The windows are manufactured with mechanically jointed outer-frame and sashes, with a deep bottom rail and mechanically jointed sash horns.
Finished with period ‘hook and claw’ cam locks and ring pulls, it is hard to tell whether the Mayfair range is uPVC or timber.
But being made from uPVC with an ash white grained finish on both sides, KAT’s vertical sliding box sash windows are virtually maintenance free, as well as providing excellent thermal properties to keep homes warm.
KAT can manufacture the sash windows with a tilt mechanism, as shown above, allowing the bottom and top windows to open inwards.
For upstairs windows especially, the functionality enables easy access for cleaning.
As with all KAT’s uPVC and aluminium products, its sash windows are manufactured to the industry’s highest required standard, with fitted spring loaded child restrictors and secure locking systems, which come with a ten year guarantee.
All KAT’s products are delivered throughout the UK and Ireland, within two weeks of the order being made.
