Roto reports a “good start” following the market launch of the “Patio Alversa” universal hardware product range.

The construction supplier reports that the PVC and timber sector’s product range available since the middle of November 2016 has on balance received a “very positive response” from existing and new customers.

The portfolio that is offered in four versions is now also being launched in the aluminium area. The key promise that the product range sustainably reduces parallel and Tilt&Slide systems’ manufacturing, storage and logistics expenditure to a minimum proves to be a “convincing argument” in practice.

BE Bauelemente GmbH, based in Leopoldshöhe in East Westphalia, is one of the manufacturers that has already opted for the new sliding segment alternative.

The window and door manufacturer with approximately 400 employees achieved a turnover of around € 60 million in 2016 according to general manager Andy-Thomas Connell. The company has therefore remained on a growth track and also counts on a positive development in the current year.

The “Sliding elements” area of competence considerably contributes to this. The strongest rise in demand at present is for the opening type that the company offers in different price categories as a one-stop shop.

Above all, Andy-Thomas Connell generally expects intuitive operation, smooth-running mechanisms, long-lasting functionality and a high standard of safety from the sliding systems’ hardware technology. The new Roto product range not only meets these criteria but also offers additional benefits.

This includes the universal “NT” system platform, the sequence of operation similar to conventional Tilt&Turn windows as well as, if need be, the option to be able to switch easily between several versions according to the Germany-wide operating manufacturer’s general manager. Overall, the “Patio Alversa” concept that has been realised is heading exactly in the right direction”.

Currently the changeover process to the “PS” parallel sliding system with night ventilation is taking place at BE Bauelemente.

The innovation’s presentation during “BAU” 2017 received the same positive feedback from the exhibition visitors as it did from the company's own sales team, explains Andy-Thomas Connell. From Roto's perspective, the solution stands out because of its “excellent ease of operation”, amongst other things.

It is based on intuitive handle operation, quiet functioning thanks to the special opening and closing mechanism and optimised run-in and run-out characteristics provided by special damping elements.

The construction supplier goes on to say that the universal hardware quartet encompasses in particular the following versions: the “KS” (Tilt&Slide system with tilt ventilation), the “PS” (optionally also without night ventilation), the “PS Air” (parallel sliding system with tilt ventilation) and the “PS Air Com”.

The fourth version integrates a parallel sliding system with tilt ventilation that can be conveniently controlled using the window handle. This enables sashes weighing up to 200 kg to be opened and closed with minimal effort. Further examples in the future will specifically document how the “Sliding” product range group’s new era will prove its worth in practice.
