SunClean self-cleaning glass, which PPG introduced nearly a decade ago for the residential construction market, is ideal for commercial applications such as skylights, canopies, walkway covers, glass shading devices and other sloped or difficult-to-access glazings.
PPG also will highlight the PPG Residential Service Center in Carlisle, Pa., a full-service insulating glass (IG) unit fabrication facility that can help residential window manufacturers manage overflow work or outsource the fabrication of double- or triple-pane IG units. The facility recently became the first in the industry to incorporate GED Integrated Solutions’ Automated Tri-Lite Assembly System (ATLAS), which can produce triple-pane, R-5 IG units at a rate of three per minute, six times faster than is possible with most conventional IG unit manufacturing methods. The ATLAS project is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Additionally, PPG will display popular architectural glass products such as SOLARBAN(R) 70XL, Solarban R100, Solarban z50 and Solarban 60 solar control, low-e glasses; STARPHIRE(R) ultra-clear glass; and CLARVISTA(R) shower door glass. PPG Industries has introduced SUNGATE(R) 600 glass, a multifunctional, low-emissivity (low-e) glass that can enhance the insulating performance of buildings in a variety of climates and applications.
SUNCLEAN(R) self-cleaning glass, which PPG Industries introduced nearly a decade ago for the residential construction market, is ideal for commercial applications such as skylights, canopies, walkway covers, glass shading devices and other sloped or difficult-to-access glazings. Unlike conventional clear glass (left), SunClean glass (right) by PPG features a durable titanium dioxide (TiO2) coating that breaks down organic material and causes water to sheet and rinse the material away.
