PPG Industries' general industrial coatings group has announced an expansion of the Knowledge College(TM) Industrial Coatings training program for next year.

In making the announcement of the 2002 schedule, Todd Wallis, PPG manager of coatings services, said, "These programs have proven their effectiveness over the years, and have been very well received by PPG associates and customers alike. We're excited that next year we will be able to make these training seminars available to the entire industrial coatings community."

Knowledge College seminars combine intensive classroom training with hands-on application work and are available in each of the four industrial coating technology fields: electrodeposition, liquid coating, powder coatings, and pretreatments (cleaners, phosphates and sealers). Technical and service professionals, recognized as industry experts, teach and lead each training session.

Seminars are structured to focus on understanding the technologies, processes and products used in continuous industrial finishing operations. Instruction focuses on practical knowledge that attendees can put to use immediately to improve their painting operations, Wallis said.

PPG Industries is the world's leading producer of transportation coatings and a major global supplier of industrial and packaging coatings, flat and fabricated glass, continuous-strand fiber glass and chemicals. It is also a leading North American supplier of architectural paints. Sales exceeded US $8.6 billion last year.
