J.E. Berkowitz, LP, (JEB) has produced a new video that details the advantages and capabilities of the JEB 3Seal™ structural, warm-edge spacer for insulating glass units (IGUs).
The video, which debuted at the 2017 Glass Association of North America’s Building Envelope Conference, visually guides viewers through the JEB 3Seal spacer’s assembly process.
Unlike traditional IGU spacers, which are manually installed, the JEB 3Seal spacer’s application is fully automated, minimizing human error and delivering superior quality.
With its unique T-shaped design, the JEB 3Seal spacer also offers reduced edge seal stress, enabling IGUs to withstand common glazing stresses caused by constant wind, pressure, and temperature changes.
The end result is an IGU with an extremely straight sightline, which is ideal for patterned units; two- and four-sided structurally glazed applications; and cold-formed, bent facades.
In addition, the video explores how the JEB 3Seal spacer can help a glazing solution satisfy tighter building energy codes by delivering lower total U-values and higher edge-of-glass temperatures.
These attributes may achieve a project’s thermal performance requirements and eliminate the need for argon gas in IGUs.
