The Glass Machinery Company is delighted to announce that its engineering team has been further strengthened by the appointment of Chris Wright.

With a broader portfolio of machinery and a substantial increase in orders, the addition was considered essential and now takes the total of full time engineers to four.

Chris has relocated from Ireland and brings with him extensive industry experience from across the UK and beyond, having worked as a service technician in both the glass trade as well as the fenestration sector.

As part of his training he has just completed an extensive on-site programme in Italy with glass machinery suppliers including CMS Brembana and Bovone.

This is the latest appointment by The Glass Machinery Company who’s steady growth over the last few years and following a number of investment programmes raising the company profile, have placed it in a very strong market position. Managing Director Phil Birchall considers the company’s success can be attributed to the quality products, training and excellent customer service that have all been fundamental in establishing customer relations.

Phil commented, “There have been many technical advances recently in the machinery sector such as the introduction of vertical CNC processing, which enables companies to expand without the need to invest in larger premises. These types of options give greater scope and consequently we have seen interest in our product range increase substantially. With demand for the range growing, we need to ensure that customers experience the same high level of service and support that they have come to expect from our company. Chris will be a great addition to the team.”

On his new appointment, Chris comments, “The Glass Machinery Company’s reputation was well known to me, so I am delighted to have the opportunity to work for such a progressive company. There is great scope for development and excellent prospects.”

Sales Manager Bill Pilkington added, “Chris’s experience will prove invaluable to our company and his appointment will help to further reinforce our engineering resources. We are all delighted to welcome him on board.”
