On the 15th of December 2009, Fives Cinetic finalized the acquisition of Decker, based in Yokohama, Japan.

This company, with almost 40 employees, is specialized in the design and supply of fluid-fill and adhesive-joining systems for the automotive industry.  Decker, which will become Cinetic Decker Filling K.K. as from the first of January, was founded in 1958 and has imposed itself as the leading supplier to Japanese producers such as Toyota, Suzuki, Honda and Nissan.Although most of its business is centered on the Japanese market (70%), Cinetic Decker Filling K.K. also supports its customers in China, and the remainder of Asia.

This acquisition reinforces Fives Cinetic’s global positioning…

Cinetic Decker Filling K.K. designs and supplies filling systems comparable to those of Cinetic Filling, based in Nantes (France). Bringing these two companies closer together will allow Fives Cinetic to occupy the position of world leader for this business sector by becoming the only actor having access to both the Japanese (located in Japan and not only those abroad) and Western automotive producers.

Cinetic Decker Filling K.K.’s business also designs and supplies adhesive-joining systems (dispensing of adhesives or pastes) in particular for glass and metal-joining processes. Fives Cinetic could extend this business to both Europe and North America.

More generally, Cinetic Decker Filling K.K. provides the Group with the opportunity to acquire a platform that will facilitate access to major Japanese producers.

… and that of Fives in Japan

This acquisition illustrates Fives’ successful deployment in Japan and it now has two local subsidiaries (Cinetic Sorting K.K. and Cinetic Filling Decker K.K.) as well as a corporate office.

The Group which has been present in the country since 2007, closely monitors the evolution of this market as it is technologically rich and has an number of potential partners.
