Those figures – around 15 % less than last year – reflected the current trend in the Solar/PV-Industry. Due to the quick-tempered discussions about government aid and the subsequent stagnation of the market the show was not too crowded. However with the rise in the awareness surrounding the topic of durability of photovoltaic modules, building integration and special sizes Lisec with its production lines for solar “thin” glass and for the manufacturing of encapsuled glass/glass PV-modules was interesting for many experts.
Besides the displayed modules the “glass bender” was the usual “eye-catcher” since it demonstrated in a quite impressive way the sheer unbelievable physical properties of 1,9 mm thin float glass which was processed in the Lisec flatbed tempering furnace. Due to its extremely high surface tension this thermally treated glass is highly flexible but also extremely impact resistant and thus offers best properties for the use in glass/glass PV-modules or CSP-parabolic mirrors.
