INORI – the modular shelf unit featuring AGC glass

Date: 29 March 2010

On display at the FIAM stand at the Milan Furniture Fair Don’t miss INORI at the 2010 Milan Furniture Fair (14-19 April).

This original, modern and modular shelf unit is made entirely of AGC glass and manufactured by FIAM, the well-known Italian glass-furniture producer. INORI is a collaborative effort between FIAM and noted designers Setsu and Shinobu Ito.

Inspired by prayer

INORI is Japanese for ‘pray’, a concept which Setsu and Shinobu Ito have incorporated into the shelf unit’s design. Its vertical partitions are reminiscent of hands joined in prayer, creating a ‘sacred haven’ for your belongings.

Featuring AGC Planibel Dark Grey

FIAM selected AGC Glass Europe’s Planibel Dark Grey to produce INORI. Planibel Dark Grey is a unique float glass chosen not only for its style, trendy colour and thickness (up to 10 mm), but also because it can be easily transformed and processed (Planibel glass can be thermally moulded). The glass is extremely versatile and can be shaped to suit any conceivable use, whether indoors (as partitions, doors, furniture, etc.) or outdoors (as cladding on certain types of facade, especially in hot countries).
