Guardian partners with ecoScorecard to put sustainability evaluations at specifiers’ fingertips

Date: 16 August 2011

Auburn Hills, Mich. (August 10, 2011) – Guardian announces a partnership with ecoScorecard to give interior designers and architects a tool to evaluate Guardian InGlass products’ sustainability features and benefits in a free, third-party rating system.

Now when designers and architects select Guardian InGlass products, from Berman Glass editions to DiamondGuard to ShowerGuard, for their project, they’ll be able to see all of the metrics and certifications associated with them. They can immediately retrieve, calibrate and print all the sustainable information they require.

All Guardian InGlass products are available in an easy-to-navigate web platform that includes LEED, GGHC Labs 21, CHPS, and the NAHB Green Home Building Guidelines.

This collaboration adds another layer to InGlass, Guardian’s new, intuitive web platform for the interior design community. It’s the first time all the tools to look for glass ideas, evaluate products, consult experts and place an order are available in one place.

“ecoScorecard is a natural fit for Guardian InGlass and our continuing efforts to produce products that fit with the architecture and design community’s green goals,” said Diane Turnwall, Guardian Industries director of Interiors. “By simplifying the rating systems documentation process and identifying products’ environmental metrics, the tool allows us to quickly and easily provide product specifiers the information they need to achieve sustainability goals.”

“With usage rates now in the millions, the AEC community is embracing ecoScorecard for product evaluation,” said Martin Flaherty, senior vice president of communication at ecoScorecard. “We are thrilled to see manufacturers’ rapid adoption of our system, and how that is making it faster and easier for specifiers to make sustainable choices.”
