Architects and Designers Can Now See How Façade Glass Looks On Their Screen - Architects and designers can now see an accurate visual impression of Guardian SunGuard exterior coated glass products under varying lighting conditions with the new Guardian Glass Visualizer.

An online tool available in North America at sunguardglass.com, the Glass Visualizer is the newest edition to the suite of Glass Analytic services from Guardian that includes the Performance Calculator, Building Energy Calculator and BIM Generator.Together, these industry-leading tools provide comprehensive engineering and analytical modeling and custom glass content that demonstrate the advantages of high performance glass in building facades.

The Glass Visualizer is a one-stop shop for comprehensive evaluation, selection and specification of glass. Architects can visualize standard SunGuard glass make-ups, or custom glass make-ups generated using Guardian’s Performance Calculator. Just choose the glass you want to see, select the building type option, and see what the glass will look like under varying sky conditions.

The Visualizer has five outdoor settings: full daylight, cloudy, clear day sunrise, cloudy day sunset and night; and four views. There are two different exterior views to see what the glass looks like from outside looking in; and also two interior views looking out. Realistic photo images help create an accurate color impression, including reflected outside color which is what you would typically see from outside a building, and transmitted color, which is the color looking through the glass.

“Architects often begin by using glass samples. The Visualizer can help narrow down the glass alternatives very quickly, making glass options easier to select,” says Chris Dolan, Guardian’s Director of Marketing for North America Flat Glass. “The Visualizer and Guardian’s Glass Performance Calculator are part of an integrated tool suite so architects can easily determine glass performance and appearance with one tool set.

“Because Guardian Glass Analytics is a web based suite of tools it can be accessed on your desktop computer or any mobile device,” he adds. “This broad functionality along with the wide range of visualization options offers our customers another great tool to help them efficiently and easily build with light.”

See the Glass Visualizer at GlassBuild America Sept. 9-11 in Las Vegas. Visit Guardian at booth 1515, or access the Visualizer from Guardian’s Glass Analytics page at SunGuardGlass.com.
