Auburn Hills, Mich. (Sept. 1, 2010) – Guardian Industries has named Mike Morrison president of Guardian Automotive, long one of the world’s leading manufacturers of glass for automotive applications.

Morrison has been with Guardian for more than 23 years including international assignments in keeping with the company’s global business portfolio.Most recently, he held a senior strategic position in the flat glass group where he provided leadership within its glass fabrication operations and directed business development activities. In recent years he has worked closely with the Automotive group in developing solar energy projects using Guardian EcoGuard glass, mirrors and automotive and laminating bending technologies. Since joining Guardian, he has served in various business capacities including assignments in Luxembourg, Hungary and Thailand.
 
As a manufacturer of automotive glass since 1932, Guardian Automotive provides automotive solutions to the major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) as well as the automotive aftermarket. Morrison has an undergraduate degree in accounting from Walsh College in Troy, Mich., and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Detroit. He and his family live in Rochester Hills, Mich.
 
Morrison replaces Jim Davis, who retired earlier this year.
