Bill Coady, an Architectural Design Manager (ADM) at Guardian Industries, was awarded the David E. Thomas Product Representative of the Year Award for the Puget Sound (Seattle) Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI).

The award was presented at the chapter’s annual awards banquet earlier this summer.

Coady has been Guardian’s ADM for the Northwest Region since March 2005, representing Guardian SunGuard advanced architectural glass and Guardian InGlass advanced interior glass product portfolios. He has been a CSI member since the 1980s and a member of the Puget Sound chapter since 1994.

The David E. Thomas Award is presented each year to a product representative for accessibility and reliability, honest and fair product representation; willingness to render appropriate assistance in incorporation of the product(s); currency in awareness of applicable jurisdictional requirements, environmental impacts, durability, and options; dissemination of product-related knowledge; and efforts which effectively enhance the end result.

“I had the pleasure of knowing Dave Thomas. He was a long-time CSI member and an excellent industry representative. I'm honored to be associated with Dave through receipt of this award,” Coady said.

The Construction Specifications Institute was founded in 1948 to address the need for common systems of presenting and organizing construction documents.

The Puget Sound Chapter of CSI, established in 1958, has active members from Bellingham to Tacoma, and consists of architects, product and manufacturer representatives, design professionals, specifiers, engineers, contractors and other representatives from all disciplines of the construction industry.

When he’s not out making sales calls, Bill is a drummer in two jazz ensembles and enjoys kayaking and other outdoor activities.  He and is wife, Michele, live in Kirkland, WA.
