Glaverbel Invests In Furnace Repair At Its Boussois Plant

Date: 9 March 2007

In response to the current high demand for flat glass in western Europe, Glaverbel will carry out cold repair of one of the two furnaces for producing float glass at Boussois, in northern France, in 2008.

The renovated furnace will be dedicated to producing glass for the construction industry.

The repair is aimed at cutting production costs and improving the quality of products, by making use of the latest technological developments within the industry. The new furnace design represents a major advance in protection of the environment. Indeed it is a European "first" according to Jean-François Heris, President of AGC Flat Glass Europe - Glaverbel, who declared "This new investment corresponds to our policy of innovation and sustainable development."
