Glass repair equipment and training options resonate with core markets in the European auto and glass industriesGlasWeld, a complete solutions provider for the glass repair industry, presented new glass repair solutions and training in Spain earlier this month.

GlasWeld met with executives and technicians from the auto repair, glass repair and glass manufacturing industries to discuss the environmental and economic impacts of glass restoration.

“The benefits and challenges of glass repair are the same in every country,” said Mike Boyle, president of GlasWeld. “Our expertise in providing excellent equipment, training and support can have a positive impact for glass-related businesses all over the world. The demonstration of our Distance Learning Program to the Spanish market reinforced the global importance of environmental stewardship and proper training in the glass repair field.”

Boyle presented the company’s new Distance Learning Program for Auto Glass Repair to Grupo Lunia, one of Spain’s largest, fastest-growing glass repair and replacement facilities. As well as demonstrating it to several repair technicians who exclusively use GlasWeld equipment, the program will also be implemented throughout the company’s network of more than 70 fixed locations throughout Spain. The Distance Learning Program is currently being translated and will be available next month in Spanish.

GlasWeld also attended Motortec 2009, the flagship event for the Spanish motor industry, organized by the Spanish Association of Automotive Equipment and Parts Producers. While there, Boyle spoke with some of Spain’s largest auto glass repair companies about the formation of a European Glass Restoration Union, based on his experience on the board of the National Windshield Repair Association in the United States.

GlasWeld also presented solutions for scratched glass waste to several large glass suppliers and manufacturers in the country. GlasWeld plans to return to Spain in the next few weeks to provide training on the Gforce Scratch Removal System to help these large companies save damaged glass and keep it in the supply chain.
