Glaston Appoints Mika Laitinen as Vice President of Global Procurement

Mika Laitinen (47), B.Sc. has been appointed Vice President, Global Procurement as of 8 August, 2011.

He joins Glaston from a position as Chief Procurement Officer at CPS Color Group Ltd. and has had an extensive international career in China and at Whirlpool Europe S.R.L. Mika Laitinen reports to Pekka Huuhka, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain.

As competition in the marketplace gets tougher the strategic importance of sourcing operations grows. We have already achieved some financial gains from optimizing our sourcing operations but as price competition gets tougher we need a superbly operating global sourcing function”, says Pekka Huuhka.

After more than 20 years in international companies and various sourcing positions Mika Laitinen has a strong know-how of working in a global environment and of globalizing sourcing operations.
