Date: 19 August 2010
Once again this year the ranges for glass machinery manufacturing, the glass industry and glazier trade will be unrivalled in terms of their completeness and the number of expected innovations will be high. Add to this a programme of side events also extended to address façade and structural glass building plus the ranges on display for solar production equipment at the new trade fair solarpeq.
glasstec 2010 welcomes visitors with fully revised segmentation and an even wider range of themes. For instance, solarpeq – International Trade Fair for Solar Production Equipment will be held for the first time now - concurrently and on the same site as glasstec: This unique combination generates new synergies between the glass and solar sectors of industry. For the glass industry new business opportunities are now opening up, innovative applications for solar products are developing while the solar industry is benefiting from glass specialists’ know-how – for instance in the field of functional glass, finishing technologies or production automation. At glasstec and solarpeq to the tune of 1,260 exhibitors in total will be presenting their innovations on approx. 63,000 square metres of net exhibition space. Of these 1,200 companies will exhibit at glasstec. 160 firms have registered for solarpeq – including the exhibitors showcasing ranges at both trade fairs.
The largest representations at glasstec come from Germany and Italy, followed by China, Austria and France. Altogether companies from 49 countries will be participating at the trade fair. The exhibitors in Halls 9 to 11 will be presenting glass products and applications for flat and hollow glass while in Halls 11 and 12 as well as 14 to 17 glass finishing and processing technologies are on display. Hall 12 will be home to everything related to measurement and control technology as well as software for glass machinery. Companies from the field of glass production and production engineering can be found in Halls 13 to 16.
The heart of solarpeq is Hall 14 even though glasstec exhibitors with solar production technology expertise and the relevant ranges can also be found in Halls 9 to 17. A visitor guidance system makes for transparency.
Key Theme: Energy Efficiency with Glass
Once again the key theme at glasstec 2010 will be energy efficiency with glass because the potential this material holds for both production engineering and applications is far from being fully exploited. The completeness of ranges on show at glasstec means that glass machinery production, glass manufacturing and the glazier trade not only form the three focal points of the trade fair but also hold magnetic appeal for visitors from precisely those segments. Moreover, the trade fair is an equally important platform for architects, construction engineers, façade planners and related professions seeking comprehensive information on the latest trends and possible applications for glass to give them a head start on the know-how stakes. This holds particularly true for the side events at glasstec featuring the Special Show glass technology live including Symposium, the Architecture Congress as well as the two focal points: engineered transparency and FacadeCenter.
The wide ranges on display at glasstec and solarpeq are complemented by the side events for skilled craftsmen, the glass art exhibition as well as the “Autoglass Arena” hosting both the national and international auto-glazier championships. The solarpeq conference “SOLAR MEETS GLASS” finally brings together representatives from both industries in a setting of this kind for the first time – enabling them to discuss mutual requirements and possible synergies.
