Now a process employing “micro replication” is able to remove scratches previously thought to severe to remove. This method actually removes the surface glass to the point where you can get to the bottom of the scratch to then polish it back to its original clarity. This is accomplishing by employing a series of special micro graded discs to quickly remove the necessary glass and then polish back the effected area. These discs are graded in various microns sizes to allow for the proper selection of disc to begin the restoration process.
Typically a center-water feed machine is used. This serves two purposes, one it keeps the glass at a safe temperature, two the water activates the discs. This process can be used on commercial flat glass, auto glass, and tempered glass, glass graffiti repair, etc.
This recent improvement by Glass Technology has open up cost saving opportunities for many businesses involved in building maintenance and the construction trades as well as glass fabricators. We are yet to find anything that comes close to accomplish the same success.
