Onwards and upwards
Phil Birchall, Managing Director says that machinery innovation, which simplifies production methods, enables customers to grow their businesses in a way that has never before been possible. Phil comments, “Manufacturers are developing machinery solutions that support the glass industry’s evolution, as well as the aesthetics that architects now demand.” He continues, “Optimum use of light in renovations and new build projects increasingly requires glass to be processed in larger sizes. To meet these demands, whilst remaining competitive, glass processors need more efficient production methods that can cater for these changes. And this is where we excel”.
Working with customers
The growing client list of leading industry names have found that The Glass Machinery Company delivers on its promises, which is substantiated by consistent recommendations and customer success stories. The unique aspects of the personal touch providing tailored solutions with bespoke factory layouts, combined with a commitment to customer service, is a winning formula.
As the old but true saying goes, “the Devil is in the detail” and with all projects both large and small, specifications are carefully checked by our engineers to ensure that the smallest detail hasn’t been overlooked from initial concept and individual factory layout planning through to installation and training. The combined skills of the engineers and those of the suppliers guarantee the smoothest possible installation. And to support the expanding business, a fourth engineer has been recruited. The diligence and competence of the skilled, experienced engineers working together with suppliers enables The Glass Machinery Company to provide the best in automation.
Working with suppliers
With a diverse and impressive portfolio of machinery from prestigious manufacturers within Europe and around the World, including brands including: Bovone, CMS Brembana, Benteler, Fratelli Pezza, Viprotron and Zafferani Glas, to name just a few, The Glass Machinery Company can offer solutions to most production problems. The latest exciting addition to the range is LandGlass toughening furnaces.
Phil Birchall comments, “We are bringing innovative solutions to the market such as the CMS Brembana “Profile” vertical processing centre, or the “Vertec” vertical drilling and milling machine. The advantage of processing glass in the vertical plane saves set-up time and handling, thus making the item cost less to produce. With a traditional horizontal CNC, positioning suction cups under the piece of work takes time. After edge processing, you might need to transfer the glass manually to drill holes before moving again to a washer. With a vertical CNC, the suction cups are automatically positioned by the machine in a matter of seconds, making changing glass size a breeze. You can have 2 vertical machines in-line, feeding directly into a vertical washer. Drilled, milled, edged and washed in one seamless operation with minimum handling. For example, an AP door can be completed in under 11 minutes.”
The Glass machinery Company team is committed to leading the market and will continue to take a progressive approach to the changing demands, ensuring it can support customer growth with increased efficiency and a faster return on investment.
