The Glass and Glazing Federation is pleased to announce that Steve Rice has been appointed as GGF Director of Technical Affairs.   Giles Willson, GGF Managing Director said, “Leading the GGF’s technical department is both challenging and rewarding.

We are very fortunate that Steve, with his vast industry experience and technical knowledge, takes over this responsible position”

Steve has been on the technical side of the Federation for almost three decades. As GGF Director of Glazing, he has been responsible for producing key technical datasheets and publications such as The GGF Glazing Manual. In addition, over the last 20 years, Steve has significantly developed the growth of GGF Membership through recruitment of glass manufacturing and processing companies. As Director of Glazing, Steve has also formed many specialist technical groups and developed the GGF’s technical consultancy services.

On his appointment, Steve commented, “The GGF Technical department is one of the Federation’s greatest assets and this is clearly evidenced by the high quality of our technical publications and how they are used as reference documents throughout the industry and in the wider construction sector. Given our strong technical position and the importance of our technical input into the industry, it is a genuine honour to have been appointed Director of Technical Affairs for the GGF. With our Members contribution and our dedicated technical teams, I aim to build on our position of strength and maintain our status as the industry’s leading technical authority.”

In addition to the new appointment, the GGF Technical department has underwent some re-structuring and has added some considerable experience with the appointment of Stephen Lipscombe as Conciliation and Technical Officer.
