Fenzi celebrated 70 years in business at Vitrum 2011

This momentous anniversary in the glass world marks an international success founded on a strategy that is carved into the Group’s DNA and summed up as follows by Alessandro Fenzi, the Group’s CEO:



“The key to our success can be defined in 4 words: our focus on flat glass, the element that sets Fenzi apart as the only chemical company in the world to be completely dedicated to secondary processing of flat glass; internationalization, through a process of global expansion begun more than 40 years ago, as true pioneers; dedication, with a spirit of sacrifice, because results like this are not achieved if you are not fully convinced about the work you do; continuity, because after 70 years, the company is still 100% owned and managed by its founding family”.

The Fenzi Group will showcase several innovative products at Vitrum 2011:



- Butylver TPS: is the new ultra-high quality thermoplastic spacer bar developed by Fenzi’s laboratories for use with the special applicators produced by Lenhardt®, which has already tested and approved the product. Butylver TPS combines perfect workability with the first-rate, long-lasting thermal performance for which TPS technology is distinguished. It is also completely compatible with Thiover, the world’s top-selling two-component polysulphide sealant. Butylver TPS tops off the warm edge product line, which has been the focus of significant investments by Fenzi and the entire Glass Alliance network over recent years.







- Butylver SS: a particular formulation of the Butylver sealant suited for manufacturers using Edgetech’s Triseal® technology. Butylver SS sealants have been uniquely engineered for application on the flexible spacer bars used in this type of technology. The flexible spacer bars are made of plastic material, much softer than metal, so difficulties may arise during the application and pressing process. Butylver SS is a particularly soft butyl, which adapts perfectly to the flexible spacer bar when pressed, without damaging or straining it. Butylver SS is the best barrier to prevent gas leaks and is therefore the main backbone of the entire system.







- Duralux Solar Coatings: the new complete range of paints for solar mirrors, developed and tested to meet the highest durability and wear tests for solar thermal systems. These innovative coatings have been developed to ensure extraordinary chemical resistance to corrosion and UV radiation, the best performance when exposed to thermal and environmental stress and optimal resistance to abrasion. Duralux Solar Coatings have such innovative characteristics that their specific tests required new reference parameters, which Fenzi worked out jointly with the industry leaders.







- Chromatech Ultra: the innovative, high-performance “warm edge” profile by Rolltech, the leading manufacturer of IG spacers that is part of the Glass Alliance network together with Alu Pro and Fenzi. By combining the stability and strength of steel and the ideal insulating properties of polycarbonate in a single structure, Chromatech Ultra can deliver many important benefits in terms of thermal insulation. Chromatech Ultra ensures a very low level of thermal transmittance but is also very easy to use, an essential feature for glass processors. The spacers are easy to bend without expensive machinery, which allows perfect results with resistant and high quality corners, and a high frame rigidity due to the double-layered structure.
