Firmly anchored in the framework of the world's largest trade fair on glass in building, the glasstec hosted the international symposium "engineered transparency" during 20th and 21st of September, 2016 again.
Hot topics related to the material glass still in its sight, the fair offered numerous special shows and conferences for interested visitors in addition to the extensive exhibition.
The international symposium "engineered transparency" used this special opportunity to bring expert over 200 speakers and specialists from 25 countries together at one conference. Like in 2014, the universities of Darmstadt and Dresden organized this event in cooperation with Messe Dusseldorf in CCD Süd, close to the exhibition halls.
At this year engineered transparency two special mini-symposia were planned for the first time. Organized by the "Hüttentechnischen Vereinigung der Glasindustrie" (HVG) and "Deutschen Glastechnischen Gesellschaft" (DGG) one lecture block regarding the main topic "Glass with integrated functions and embedded sensors" took place.
Further lectures regarding glazing technologies in cooperation with "Fachverband Konstruktiver Glasbau" (FKG) and "Bundesverband Flachglas" (BF) were content of the second symposium.
Attendees combined a visit to the conference and visiting the exhibition halls uncomplicated. The conference also provided a guided tour though the special show "glass technology live" accompanied by a "Get Together" social event in this interesting environment to round off the first conference day.
