The game’s top Italian golfer will be teeing off immediately on sustainable climate protection as Edoardo Molinari becomes the latest Schüco brand ambassador. The world number 15 will support Schüco in publicising the key importance of “green technology” in more energy-efficient buildings and climate protection. Schüco International KG is the global market leader in aluminium, solar, steel and PVC-U products for innovative building envelopes, with offices in more than 75 countries. Italy is an important market for Schüco. In Molinari, Schüco now has a local brand ambassador who is also responsible for the values and philosophy of the company. The Italian headquarters of Schüco are situated in Padua. The company has some 200 employees throughout Italy working with 1300 partners.
“Edoardo Molinari is currently one of golf’s biggest stars and he has the all-round game to be hugely successful in the future. We are delighted to be working with him in developing Schüco brand recognition in Italy, promoting the theme of “green buildings” through our “Nature and Technology” sponsorship. Edoardo Molinari is a brand ambassador for Italy, but also an ideal choice globally,” says Dirk U. Hindrichs, President and CEO of Schüco International KG. Edoardo Molinari adds, “It’s a great honour for me to be part of such a high-quality team of brand ambassadors and to represent a brand that makes such an enormous contribution to climate protection with efficient solutions for buildings.”
It was in 2009 that Edoardo Molinari announced his arrival, rocketing up from 753 to 48 in the world rankings. And he continued his phenomenal rise this summer. In July, he won the Barclays Scottish Open, his first victory on the European PGA Tour. His second triumph followed just weeks later, in the Johnnie Walker Championship at the end of August. This second win saw him claim a place on the Europe team alongside his brother Francesco for this week’s Ryder Cup. For a pair of brothers to play in the most prestigious team competition in golf is a rare feat indeed. As Europe’s finest face up to a strong US side in Wales from 1 October, Schüco will be very well represented. Edoardo Molinari will join Martin Kaymer and Miguel Ángel Jiménez in the team led by captain Colin Montgomerie.
The addition of the 29-year-old from Turin sees the team of international Schüco brand ambassadors increase to eight world class golfers. Bernhard Langer, Martin Kaymer, Colin Montgomerie, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, Grégory Havret, Geoff Ogilvy and Henrik Stenson all represent the Schüco corporate model of “Energy2 – Saving energy and generating energy”.
