Another gathering of global glass circles (China Glass 2014) was staged in Shanghai, which runs from 14 to 17 April, 2014 and occupies seven halls of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (E1-E7) with the exhibition area up to 80,000 square metres, drawing 815 exhibitors (185 international companies) from 27 countries, including China, Italy, Germany, the US, France, Finland, the UK, the Netherlands, Korea, Japan and India.  Almost all leading glass enterprises in the world participated in the show.

The pavilions of Germany, Italy and the United States were conspicuous in the hall. The Italian exhibiting group had more than 1200 square metres for 24 companies. The German group, supported by the government departments and organized by prestigious Messe Düsseldorf, had an booth area of 600 square metres with 30 companies. Over 20 companies had booths of 400 square metres in the US pavilion.

Thanks to good feedback of the China Glass Exhibition, some renowned international companies such as Bystronic, Glaston, Lisec and Glassman rented even larger booths compared to the last year. Great influence of this glass show has encouraged participation of more and more enterprises, and there were about 50 newcomers this year from the US, Germany, France, the UK, Czech, Malaysia and Estonia, as well as China.

Besides general glass-processing techniques, machines and glass products, people at the exhibition saw a great variety of special glass products, up-to-date glass-processing technologies and machines, especially those closely related to low-carbon economy, energy efficiency, emission reduction, new energy and green materials.

The four-day glass show attracted over 23,000 professional visitors from nearly 80 countries in the world, and 3,000 people from outside China came to the show, including visiting groups comprising about 400 people from industrial, trading and press sectors of India, Viet Nam, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, etc.

China Glass 2014 again provides a platform for exhibitors and visitors from worldwide glass communities to conduct technic exchanges and trade talks. They all deem this glass fair very fruitful and rewarding, and obtained a good business opportunity. For example, just on the second exhibition day, Guangdong IVACO received a number of order forms from Iran, Turkey, Korea and Poland, and seven of the eight 3,800,000 yuan worth machines of Guangdong Fushan were sold out and export orders about 10 million yuan and US$ 3 million were clinched.

Completing the glass show, a number of technic and academic activities were arranged including the International Symposium on Advanced Glass Melting Technology, GPD China 2014, as well as 12 technic seminars, focusing on energy efficiency, low carbon and new technology for recycling material, melting and oxy-fuel combustion technologies. Besides, news briefings and workshops were held by some exhibitors for promoting their brands, products and R&D results.
