Beautiful May in Beijing. The 24th China International Glass Industrial and Technical Exhibition was successfully held at China International Exhibition Center on the 24-27th.

The glass show was organized by the Chinese Ceramic Society and co-organized by China National Association for Glass Industry and Chinese Architectural and Industrial Glass Association.  

China Glass has long been supported by nationwide trade associations in China, as well as leading worldwide glass organizations including I.C.E., GIMAV, VDMA and Dame Associates Inc. Since its initiation in 1986, China Glass has developed into the most influential glass exposition in Asia and the second largest one in the world at present, enjoying high reputation all over the world.  

Leaders and officials of China Building Materials Federation and major relevant associations, institutes and companies in China and distinguished guests of glass circles from other countries, including officials of International Commission on Glass, were present at the opening meeting accompanied by secretaries general of the Chinese Ceramic Society.

In the past 2012, China’s glass industry experienced server test. The flat glass industry saw sequential drop of profits and more enterprises had economic losses. Faced with such unfavourable situation, China Glass still brings forth its great cohesiveless. This event occupies 7 halls of the Exhibition Center and the exhibition area again was up to 80,000 square metres. More than 860 companies, including 230 international companies, from 33 countries came to demonstrate their up-to-date products and technologies. The number of countries where exhibitors came from topped 30 for the first time, indicative of increasing international influence of China Glass.

As a brand exhibition of international glass circles, China Glass has become the first chosen showcasing platform for the leading glass-related companies in the world, including numerous renowned transnational corporations and also a large number of world-famous professional glass enterprises. This embodies the internationalization, high level and distinctive contemporaneous features of this glass exhibition. Among the domestic exhibitors are famous glass producers, research and design institutes, as well as manufactures and dealers of glass-processing equipment and products. All leading companies and factories from the fields ranging from glass production to glass processing showed up at the exhibition. The glass show thus set a technical and trade platform for professionals from the world over. The exhibitors also included academic societies, industrial associations, commercial chambers, trading organization and agents, in addition to information, consulting and engineering institutions.

China Glass 2013 covers almost all fields of the glass industry, especial low-carbon economy, new energy and green building materials, such as on-line and off-line low-E glass, Sun-E glass, double-silver and three-silver low-E coated glass, four-sided beveling machine. The exhibition was highlighted by key manufacturing technologies and equipment of photovoltaic and photothermal glass and coated glass, solar energy-building integration glass, glass substrates for displays, low-E and multifunctional composite coated energy-saving glass, as well as oxy-fuel firing technology, desulphurization and denitration of glass furnaces and utilization of waste heat.

The China glass show of this year overlapped weekends, however it still attracted a great many of interested visitors. According to incomplete statistics, nearly 30,000 professional visitors came to the show from over 80 countries, including about 3000 foreign ones. More than 500 India visitors arrived in Beijing and appeared at the exhibition including 130 visitors organized by Glass Bulletin of India. 200 visitors came from South Korea, and Viet Nam sent a visiting group of 60 people.



China Glass has long drawn interests and received support from the key glass-related media in the world, such as magazines, newspapers, websites, databases of China, Italy, Germany, US, UK, India, Egypt and Spain. They have released a mass of relevant reports on this event, so as to further increase the influence of China Glass. Journalists or reporters from many media partners visited the glass show and had interviews with related officials of the show organizer.



To complete the exhibition, press conference and media meeting organized by Bottero and Glaston, as well as 17 technical seminars were given, in addition to GPD China 2013 held just before the glass show, where attendees had technical exchanges and interesting discussion with the speakers and relevant experts on frontal technologies and new products and processes.

Another grand gathering of global glass communities, China Glass 2014, will take place in Shanghai on 14-17 April next year. All friends are welcome to this Shanghai glass show.
