Nearly 17 metres of clear toughened glass panels, topped with a shiny Royal Chrome handrail, have transformed the appearance of Alex’s garden and keep clear views from the conservatory to the magnificent Koi pond beyond.
Installed by Peter Nelmes, a Balcony approved installer, the Balcony 2 balustrade also supplies the required security around the outside terrace and pond from where the fish can be viewed in safety.
“The old timber balustrade had started to rot after 12 years and the last thing I was wanted was for it to give way and someone to fall in,” explained Alex, who lives near Woking. “Having seen the Balcony product at Grand Designs, I decided it was the ideal replacement solution that makes a huge difference to this part of the garden.
“Now there’s no maintenance to worry about and I can see through the glass to the pond and rest of the garden. At night, blue lights on the decking illuminate the glass and create a beautiful effect. The balustrade is the crowning feature in the garden and Balcony has delivered absolutely 100%!”
Peter commented: “Installation of the new balustrade, which follows the exact contours of the old one, went smoothly. It offers long-term durability and provides an important security feature beside the pond.”
Balcony Systems is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of glass balustrading and curved sliding patio doors. It also offers BalcoNano®, a self-application glass coating process that transforms ordinary glass into self-cleaning glass.
