Anti-fingerprint technologies

Date: 13 May 2015

“IZOVAC Technologies" has developed an Anti-fingerprint (AF) coating technology on glass and polymer surfaces. AF coating creates a layer of hydrophobic material which prevents grease from sticking to the surface.

In addition AF coating allows easy removal of dirt from the glass surface.

Two technologies for anti-fingerprint coatings deposition were developed:

  • liquid evaporation

  • GIT® technology

  •

AF coating deposition could be combined with AR coatings deposition in one cycle (AR+AF coating).

Coating machine that combine liquid evaporation technology with PECVD technology is presented below.

Another technology that is developed for anti-fingerprint coatings deposition is GIT®.

GIT®  is a new IZOVAC created technology that is used for AF coatings mass production.

GIT®   machine for AF coatings is represented below.

Advantages of AF coating:

  • Long-term durability in resisting chemical and mechanical wear

  • Repellent to fingerprints and water

  • Easy-to-clean with a dry soft cloth

  • Water contact angle > 110°

  • Combination with anti-reflective coating

  •

AF coating application

The multifunctional AR+AF coating is well suited for use in surface protection of optical glass from contamination, wear-resistant coatings for smartphones, industrial displays, touch screens,  architectural glass, gaming and public displays, etc.

Difference between uncoated and coated with AF coatings glass is shown on this video.
