Leading UK systems company AluK (UK) Limited are the latest systems company to join Qualicoat UK & Ireland.

Currently based in Newport but relocating to much larger premises in Chepstow, the company is set to become one of the largest systems companies in the UK supplying both commercial and residential window, door and curtain wall systems.

Granted UK & Ireland applicator licence number 1021 in December 2016, AluK join a further thirty members in the UK & Ireland who are made up of the major suppliers of powders and pretreatment systems.

Members meet on a regular basis to discuss technical issues and agree ways of improving both quality and performance of architectural aluminium finishes with the ultimate aim of providing the best quality of architectural finish possible.

Russell Yates, MD of AluK, explains their reasons for joining Qualicoat UK & Ireland, “As an aluminium systems supply company, we have long recognised the importance of using Qualicoat licensed applicators for the provision of finished profiles to our customers. When we installed our own pretreatment and powder coating plant it was always our aim to become Qualicoat approved as soon as possible. We are delighted to be awarded with an applicators licence and I would like to thank our dedicated management and staff in achieving this."

A further large UK systems company is close to being approved early in 2017. As a systems company, AluK currently join AMS Systems and Smart Systems in the UK & Ireland and it is expected that further systems companies will apply to the association for membership and support the Qualicoat standard.

Copies of the Qualicoat standard, now in its fourteenth edition, are available through the UK association website, www.qualicoatuki.org, together with an up to date list of manufacturers and applicators.
