This is a special award nominated independently by the judging panel in recognition of true marketing excellence.The much acclaimed bottle not only made history as the world’s first limited edition spirit bottle, where every single bottle is unique, but earned praise from marketing professionals worldwide for the concept and execution and subsequent success.The award was presented to Eric Näf , Director, Packaging Development, The Absolut Company, and Peter Gunnarsson, Sales Manager, Glass, Nordic, Ardagh Group, in a ceremony at the Interpack exhibition in Germany to commemorate the 2013 crop of Worldstar winners.Absolut Unique comprises four million individually decorated bottles with different colour combinations of coating and pattern and a unique label.Sublime artistry combines with technological precision through randomised colours and spray patterns to deliver a totally personalised and exclusively packaged product for consumers.
Ardagh Group also picked up Worldstar Awards for two of its metal packaging developments: the Nemo food can and RinGo® paint can. The Nemo can for Bonduelle has been described as “a real game changer in metal packaging”, representing the future of food packaging. RinGo® with its ring free construction and 20% material reduction offers real sustainability benefits to the paints and coatings market and improved ease of use for the consumer.
Commenting on the Absolut achievement, Ardagh’s Peter Gunnarsson said: “This award not only recognises our achievement as the best of the best in global terms, but shows our commitment towards helping our customers to achieve the most challenging marketing goals.”
The Worldstars are the pre-eminent International Packaging Awards and are presented only to those packages which have already won their national competition. 250 entries were received from 35 countries.
