Highlights and overall product range on show at glasstec 2004 in DüsseldorfAt Stand D 40 in Hall 10 of the Düsseldorf fairgrounds, TROSIFOL will be presenting its overall product range and highlighting four products.

TROSIFOL SOUND CONTROL is a PVB sound insulation film for the toughest demands in architectural glazing. The assessed sound insulation rating of a standard glass configuration (44.2) is 37 dB with this film, thus complying with the relevant quality standards EN 12600 and EN 356. It is available in thicknesses of 0.76, 1.14 and 1.52 millimetres and a maximum roll width of 3.21 metres.

In motor vehicles, all-round laminated safety glazing with TROSIFOL MV-SC achieves up to 8 dB better sound insulation than conventional single glazing in vehicles. It enhances travel comfort while also providing excellent protection from UV light. TROSIFOL MV-SC meets the requirements of the relevant quality standards, such as ECE-R 43 and ANSI Z-26.1. It is available both as a colourless film and in the conventional colour scale variants.

TROSIFOL SOLAR is a novel PVB film specially developed for the lamination of solar cells. This type of film is laminated in a serial single-stage vacuum process. The solar modules produced in this way have an extra-long service life and qualify as laminated safety glass in accordance with EN ISO 12543.
TROSIFOL SOLAR is a new type of PVB film for the lamination of crystalline Si cells in a glass/glass solar cell module. It is preferably used in a single-stage vacuum process and yields solar cell modules with a high resistance to climatic change and a long service life.
These modules can be used as laminated safety glass elements on façades or glass roofs.

In cooperation with DECORAL SYSTEMS, TROSIFOL is presenting an innovative PVB decorative film for the production of laminated safety glass. The product diversity is huge and the range of applications in indoor and outdoor glazing is virtually unlimited.
DECORAL products have outstanding properties in terms of longterm stability, UV protection, lightfastness and safety/security.
DECORAL, the unusual design film, is available in a thickness of 0.38 millimetres and a maximum width of 1,600 millimetres. It is supplied with PE interlayers, so no cooling is necessary during transport.

Background

TROSIFOL (German acronym for "Troisdorf safety film") is the polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film of HT TROPLAST AG (HT), the internationally successful plastics processor and European market leader in PVB films for laminated safety glass in architectural glazing.
The raw material for all TROSIFOL films is PVB. PVB has been in use as an interlayer in laminated safety glass since the Thirties.
Powdered PVB resin is blended with plasticizers to give it sufficient elasticity for its use as a safety glass film.
Experience with the processing of this raw material dating back to 1953 is one of the main reasons for the technical sophistication of TROSIFOL today. Thanks to ongoing research and development, TROSIFOL has become Europe's leading manufacturer of films for structural glazing. Today TROSIFOL operates a worldwide distribution network comprising several subsidiaries, agents and warehouse sites, and markets its products in over 75 countries.
TROSIFOL is certified to ISO/TS 16949 and DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
