West des moines, Iowa Central Iowa's newest mall is a glass guzzler.Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines has used so much tempered glass for storefronts, windows, skylights and doors that it has created a shortage locally.

The mall's general manager, Eric Almquist, says some retailers are now on a waiting list.Contractors have gone shopping for glass in Minnesota and Arkansas.

Tempered glass breaks into small pieces instead of shattering.

The 200 (m) million dollar mall is set to open on August fourth.
