Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (NSG) announces that its vacuum double-glazing glass, SPACIA 21® clear thermal shield unit, won Chairman’s Prize, The Energy Conservation Center, Japan at the presentation of the FY2013 Energy Conservation Grand Prize (Product category & Business Model Category), organized by The Energy Conservation Center, Japan.   The Energy Conservation Center is a body aimed at promoting energy conservation and development and is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan.

This award recognizes outstanding developments in energy-saving product performance and the promotion of energy-saving awareness.

NSG’s SPACIA 21® won this award due to its thinness of 18.2 mm, its high thermal insulation and its hybrid design utilizing our unique SPACIA® vacuum glazing system which was integral to the slim design.

SPACIA 21®, clear thermal shield unit, was launched in Japan in November last year and is a thermal insulation window glass of the highest level. This glass achieved an insulation performance improvement of about 10% compared with conventional products of the same thickness (U-Value: 0.7W / m² · K) and increased solar radiation shielding.

Raising awareness of environmental protection and energy saving leads to greater energy conservation and a reduced environmental impact. NSG will continue to develop high-value-added products that can further contribute to energy conservation in the future.
