Solvay S.A’s. Board of Directors decided at their meeting on December 17, 2003 to distribute onJanuary 15, 2004 a net interim dividend of EUR 0.70 per share for the 2003 financial year, i.e. unchanged compared to the interim dividend for the 2002 financial year.

This interim dividend will be paid on account of the total dividend for 2003 that will be announced by the Board of Directors on March 26, 2004.Solvay S.A’s. Board of Directors decided at their meeting on December 17, 2003 to distribute on
